LBA  a remporté le concours pour la construction d’une ferme urbaine en proposant l’acquaponie comme méthode d’exploitation symbiotique entre agriculture et l’elevage de poissons .

The concept of our building offers the combination of an archetypal newyorkeese building in which the elements have been implemented to make it a reference point in the current debate on the nutrition of the planet and the need to find new models of construction of the city. A contemporary building, that research the relationship with the classical buildings of New York retaining the design and features to fit smoothly into the existing fabric.

The purpose of the project is to implement an urban farm in a building, and the best way to maximize the potential of agriculture in the urban environment is to use the hydroponic system that permits both the agricultural and fisheries production with a symbiotic exploitation. The surface of the terraces is entirely dedicated to the agricultural cultivation and this is protected by glass and steel greenhouses that become a natural extension of the apartments and also provide the heat regulation in summer and winter and giving the building a transparent façade facing south. In the winter months by exploiting the serra effect, an accumulation of heat is produced that is useful for the growth of crops and that is distributed to homes
